ABOUT TORREY
Torrey began riding as a child, first as a hunter/jumper, then as an eventer, and finally specializing in dressage. Having grown up on a Hanoverian breeding farm and building and managing two equestrian facilities of her own, she has over 30 years of experience in horse care and dressage. She trained several of her own horses to the FEI levels, earning her USDF Diamond Achievement for obtaining all bronze, silver, and gold medals and freestyle bars. She is also a US Equestrian "r" judge.
Torrey is a kind and compassionate trainer and instructor, always putting the horse first, and progressing training at an appropriate pace. She is also a patient instructor with a gift for making dressage principals easily accessible to adult and young riders at all levels. Whether your goals are to compete in the upper levels of dressage or simply to improve your partnership with your horse, Torrey can help you gain the skills and confidence you need to meet your goals and enjoy your time in the saddle.

Torrey has trained with FEI and Olympic trainers, including Ali Brock,
Heather Mason, Jeanne McDonald, Lauren Sprieser, and Julio Mendoza Loor. She has received numerous regional and national awards from Training level to Grand Prix, and has had her accomplishments published multiple times in the Chronicle of the Horse and The Iberian Horse magazines.

Torrey also has professional experience outside of the horse world. She received her PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and worked in the corporate world for 15 years helping clients in the areas of executive coaching, leadership development, performance management and career development. This powerful combination of equine and adult learning and development is what makes Torrey an ideal dressage instructor.
